What we do
Walk Worcester is a community project born out of Bike Worcester. We share the same roots and the same conviction: that short local journeys should be easy, safe and pleasant for everyone. Where Bike Worcester speaks up for people on bikes, we speak up for people on foot. We're volunteers and neighbours who listen to residents, gather evidence, and work with the council and local partners to make Worcester a place where going on foot is the simple, welcoming choice.
We work to make walking in Worcester safer, easier and more welcoming for everyone.
- Campaign for better streets on foot — safer crossings, wider and well-maintained pavements, lower traffic speeds and direct, joined-up walking routes.
- Speak up for pedestrians — we respond to consultations and planning proposals so the needs of people on foot are heard when decisions get made.
- Encourage everyday journeys — sharing routes, tips and the small changes that make choosing to walk that bit easier.
- Gather local evidence — mapping the obstacles, blocked pavements and awkward crossings that make walking harder than it should be.
- Work with the council and partners — building the case, together, for lasting change across the city.
